10 Things you might not know about me!

Let’s face it – I’m a pretty open book. But not all of you know the whimsy that is Cait White so I thought I’d take the time to put together a little FYI for you about me. Mind you – you may be like um who are you and why do I care about these factoids about your life. You don’t - but I’m pretty great and super funny and love what I do and who I am and all things about life really – so just read it and enjoy.

1. My full name is Caitlin. When I was a kid my Dad would tell me frequently that he chose my name for me as an infant because it was unique and different with not a lot of other kids having it. Fast forward to Kindergarten – where I’d be pleased to meet several other Caitlin’s. (WTF?!) They all spelled their names differently and I was unique in that respect but I was still feeling jaded and I’m fairly sure that was the start of my disdain for copy cats. They say it’s the sincerest form of flattery – but I think it’s lame. Now I get these children didn’t have a choice but still…the beginning.
2. Burgers and sandwiches on repeat. On repeat on repeat. Then repeated. These two are my kin. I could live off them without question and don’t really ever tend to stray off my designated menu items at the same restaurants every single time I go. #noshame
3. I struggle with anxiety. I’ve done a really good job of getting it under control but for a while there was some unruliness to its existence as I’m sure so many individuals can appreciate. Public speaking is basically the last thing on this entire earth that I would like to do – but I am also a realist about not letting it control me. So I’m often making myself do things I’m initially uncomfortable with. And that makes me appreciate all the process to success all the more.

4. I have a 10 year old sister. Mhmm that’s right – I have a little sister in this modern hipster age and she continues to amaze me with how different growing up today is. She’s so tech savvy and has a cell phone. She dyes her hair with eccentric bright pops of colour and models. She’s bilingual and always schools me when it comes to asking a question en francais. She never fails to surprise me with her newest interests and creative spirit. I look forward to experiencing all of the things in life with her that I thought were pretty rad.

5. Take me to a theme park! They are so fantastic. So much happiness and excitement…and incredibly expensive and horribly bad for you cuisine. The rides just bring me the simplest abundance of joy. I could ride them repeatedly all day long until the park closed – or maybe all night after they closed because the lines would be shorter? Who would run the rides? This plan is fully flawed but the moral of this story is that theme parks are amazing and should be a mandatory excursion on every family’s annual summer vacation. Just saying. Important note: I don’t have children yet so report back in a few years when my opinion could be heavily askew.
6. Speaking of children – my generation is due for twins. My sister would be horribly upset with me if I somehow take the cake there as she is hoping to…in her words “take care of kids in one shot.” If that’s even a thing. She’s a work smarter not harder kind of gal and thinks that will be her smartest option. This is also my 26-year-old sister – not my 10 year old sister. In case you were seriously questioning my little sister’s focus in life right now as the 10-year-old being I just previously introduced. Awk-ward.
7. My favourite band is Pearl Jam. There is nothing better than Eddie Vedder.
8. My hometown is Petrolia. Or the LC as I liked to call it. (Lambton County) It has a total Hills vibe to it – don’t you think? If you’ve ever been you’re sure to appreciate what I’m talking about. Lots of sprawling acreage but definitely no palm trees. (Insert surprised face à here) It’s a small town of around 5800 people just outside of Sarnia. I lived on a cash crop farm in the house that my dad built for us. I love our property and I love my family and the feeling I get when I go back home to see them – but I don’t often venture back to the LC just on a whim.
9. A cruise is the last place you will ever see this face. I have a burning question inside me when people tell me they are going on a vacay and that vacay consists of a prolonged duration on a vessel totally submergible to the sea. Has no one seen Titanic?! That was real life people – sure, don’t get me wrong and 100 years has gone by and mechanical evolution has greatly evolved but no – just no. I will not be spending my hard earned colourful Canadian bills on destination death-ship. Not in this life anyway.
10. I kind of like to talk…
