No Carve Pumpkins for 2017
Not a great artist but still a super huge fan of Halloween and all of it's festive décor? There are still plenty of ways you can have fun with your pumpkins this season without getting out the knife. See my guide below to creating the perfect stylized pumpkin to fit any décor scheme.
The Painted Pumpkin: Simple + classic. The painted pumpkin offers you unlimited versatility when it comes to colour and style. This year I'm loving the addition of the painted gold stems.
The Modern Pumpkin: More of a clean lined and contrast kind of gal? (or guy!) Try painting your pumpkins in a matte shade like black or white. Finish it off with a witty word play in the opposite colour for a striking contrast.
The Glitter Pumpkin: Need I say more? I think this name speaks for itself. Pick yourself up some Elmer's glue (either white or in the spray adhesive for easier application) and pour yourself a big pile of glitter to roll your pumpkin around in. You can assure yourself this will be a mess but the finished product will be next level.
The 'Donkin' Pumpkin: Yup - you read that correctly. With all of the love surrounding our favourite soft and fluffy pastry - it didn't seem right to not dedicate a pumpkin to donuts. This design is both cute and fun. Paint the top portion of your pumpkin with large scallops and paint the interior whatever colour you desire. Top with painted sprinkles - or my fav...glitter!
The Spilt Paint Pumpkin: This look is best achieved on white pumpkins if possible. Take a paint of your choice (I like the idea of a metallic or vibrant hue) and pour around the top of your pumpkin and allow it to drip down. Tip: Add a dollop of Elmer's glue to thicken the mixture and create a better texture for your drip!
The Pushpin Pumpkin: This is fun and easy. Pick up pushpins at your local office supply or Dollarama. (Silver or Gold) Choose a cheeky phrase and pin it into your pumpkin. Whether your font is cursive or contemporary - this pumpkin is sure to be a favourite!
